Cyrillic Starter Kit 5.01 vs. Cyrillic Support 2000

Which One is Right for Me?

Cyrillic Starter Kit has everything you need for Web browsing, e-mail, and basic word processing in Cyrillic.

Cyrillic Support 2000 is a better choice if you need to do any of the following:

  • Desktop publishing. The decorative Cyrillic fonts are useful for ads, brochures, invitations, newsletters, etc.
  • Russian stress marking. Accented Russian vowels are supported for marking stress.
  • Use Cyrillic in dialog boxes. Although you can normally select a font in the body of a document, many programs use a system font for dialog boxes such as search/replace, text entry in a graphics program, etc. In order to type Cyrillic in these contexts, you'll need Cyrillic system fonts.
  • Use software from Russia. The Cyrillic system fonts will enable you to use software whose menus, dialog boxes, etc. are in Russian.
  • Document conversion. Character set conversion is helpful if you need to handle documents created on a Macintosh, or on older platforms such as DOS or Windows 3.1.
